Marjorie “Marge” Schutz, 95

Marjorie “Marge” Schutz, age 95 of Jasper, passed away at 2:05 a.m. PDT, on Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at Palomar Medical Center in Escondido, California.

She was born on December 13, 1917 in Petersburg, Indiana to Parson B. and Susie E. (Drake) Marsee. She married Herbert O. Schutz on May 23, 1940 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper; he preceded her in death on October 2, 1970.

Mrs. Schutz was retired from Memorial Hospital in Jasper and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where she was previously a Stephen minister in the parish. She was a member of the Associate Chapter Tri Kappa, Daughters of Isabella, American Legion Auxiliary, Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and a former member of the Jasper Business and Professional Women’s Club.

She enjoyed playing golf, going to the gym, and collecting angels.

She was preceded in death by four half brothers, Erhman, George, Clyde and Earl Davis; and one sister, Amanda (Marsee) Evans.

Funeral services for Marjorie “Marge” Schutz will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday (April 24, 2013) at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, IN with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday (April 23, 2013) at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. The Jasper Circle of the Daughters of Isabella will pray a rosary service at 3:45 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Alzheimer’s Association, American Heart Association, St. Joseph Catholic Church or a favorite charity.
