Marjorie “Marge” Anne (Lampert) Buechlein, 92, Jasper

Marjorie “Marge” Anne (Lampert) Buechlein, 92, passed away at her home on September 26, 2026, in Jasper.

Marge was born on January 3, 1934, in Jasper, Indiana, to Hugo and Mary (Spink) Lampert.

She graduated from Jasper High School in 1952 and attended Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College from 1952 to 1954. She transferred to Evansville College (now the University of Evansville), where she was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi. She graduated in 1956 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Home Economics.

Marge married her high school sweetheart, Charles “Charlie” Buechlein, on June 14, 1956, at St. Joseph Church in Jasper, Indiana.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She worked in teaching and office administration. She taught fourth grade in Nokesville, Virginia, in 1956-57 and served as the home economics teacher at Holy Family School in Jasper from 1979-88.

For more than 40 years, Marge worked with Charlie and her son, Mark, at the CPA firm Buechlein & Associates, P.C. She was the “fixer” behind the scenes, doing tasks that helped keep the office running at its best. Her daily routine included trips to the post office and courier visits to numerous client destinations. She was more than a courier–she was the firm’s best ambassador. She loved serving the clients and working with the accounting staff.

Marge was active in various parish, school, and community activities. She was a member of Holy Family Parish and served as Parish Council President and Sodality President. She was involved in Girl Scouts in high school and supported her children’s scouting activities.

Marge was appointed to the Jasper Public Library Board, where she served as president and treasurer. She served as vice president of the Pike and Dubois Counties Joint Services Board and as a member of the Four Rivers Library Services Board.

She was a member of the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, the Dubois County Panhellenic Association, and the JHS Class of 1952 Reunion Committee.

Marge is survived by her daughters, Anne Wilmes (Art) of Indianapolis and Grace Buechlein of Jasper; sons, John Buechlein (Amy) and Mark Buechlein (Kyla) of Jasper; daughter-in-law, Diane (Lines) Buechlein of Fort Myers, FL; five grandchildren and one great-grandson; brother, Kenneth R. “Dick” Lampert and sister-in-law, Joan Lampert of Jasper; and sister, Christine (Lampert) Desmarais of Bowling Green, KY.

Marge was preceded in death by her parents, Hugo and Mary Lampert; her husband, Charles Buechlein; son, Michael Mark Buechlein; daughter, Monica Buechlein Berger; grandson, Joseph Berger; and sisters, Rosemary (Lampert) Thornton and Doris “Dottie” (Lampert) Fischer; and brother, Joseph L. Lampert.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Marjorie Buechlein will be held at 11 am on Friday, October 2, 2026, at Holy Family Catholic Church at 950 E Church Ave, Jasper, IN 47546, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.

A visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, Indiana, on Thursday, October 1, 2026. Holy Family Catholic Church will lead a rosary at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. A visitation will also be held from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Mass time at Holy Family Catholic Church on Friday.
