Marjorie Louise Hecker, 93

Marjorie Louise Hecker, 93, of Huntingburg passed away at 5:43 a.m. on Monday, February 2, 2015, at the Good Samaritan Retirement Community in Jasper.

She was born in Huntingburg, Indiana, on September 10, 1921 to Arthur and Esther (Overbeck) Sakel.

She worked as a secretary for D.M.I. in Huntingburg and retired as a secretary for Kraft Foods in Miami, Fla. Marj loved playing bridge, dancing, watching football, solving crossword puzzles and living in Florida for thirty seven years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Hecker, who passed away on January 6, 2009.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Marsha (Fred) Souders of Huntingburg; one brother and sister-in-law, Bob (Billie) Sakel of Holland; four grandchildren, Jeff Souders of Huntingburg, Tony (Bobi) Souders of Huntingburg, and Michele (Dyle) Russell of Winston Salem, N.C.; Sean (Nicole) Souders of Charlotte, N.C.; and five great grandchildren, Robin, Dominic, Rylee, Dylen and Jake.

Memorial services for Marjorie Hecker will be held at a later date; service details will be published at that time.

Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg has been entrusted with the arrangements.
