Marilyn R. “Toot” Schwenk, 78, Ireland, Ind.

Marilyn R. “Toot” Schwenk, 78, of Ireland, Ind., passed away surrounded by family at 3:15 a.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Deaconess Memorial Hospital in Jasper.

Toot was born in Huntingburg on December 27, 1947, to Herbert “Boots” and Mary Ann (Hoffman) Schwenk.

She was a 1965 graduate of Ireland High School.

She retired from Leeds Selling Tools after 55 years.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Ireland.

Toot enjoyed playing Bingo and cards, traveling, reading, cross-stitching, and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by four sisters, Janet (Mark) Kordes of Jasper, Debbie Schwenk of Ireland, Ind., Shelly (Roy) Main, Ireland, Ind., and Jody (Nathan) Verkamp of Jasper; five brothers, Michael J. (Debbie) Schwenk of Ireland, Ronald (Diane) Schwenk of Ireland, Tim (Donna) Schwenk of Ireland, Mark (Karen) Schwenk of Jasper, and Keith (Angie) Schwenk of Ferdinand; two brothers-in-law, Doug Waller of Evansville, and Daron Hoffman of Schnellville; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are her parents; two sisters, Ruth Waller and Karen Hoffman; and one brother, David Schwenk.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Marilyn R. “Toot” Schwenk will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 16, 2026, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Ireland with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

A visitation will be held from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, Indiana, and one hour before services at the church from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Friday.
