Marianne C. Fritch, 89

Marianne C. Fritch, age 89, of Jasper, passed away at 8:26 a.m. on Wednesday (June 6, 2012) at Brookside Village in Jasper.
Marianne was born in Jasper on October 6, 1922 to Victor and Clara (Rumbach) Sturm. She married Joseph Fritch on February 9, 1957 in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper. He preceded her in death on January 8, 1990.
Marianne was a registered nurse anesthetist at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper and St. Joseph’s Hospital in Huntingburg for many years, and was also a registered nurse in the Army, serving during World War II. She also worked as a nurse for Dubois County Tri-Cap and was a school nurse for Jasper High School.
She was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church in Jasper, the Precious Blood Choir, the Precious Blood St. Vincent DePaul Society, the Memorial Hospital Auxillary, the American Legion Post #147 of Jasper, and the V.F.W. Post #673 of Jasper. She was also a Girl Scout Leader.
She received the Simon Brute award from the Diocese of Evansville for her service in Precious Blood Parish.
She enjoyed reading, quilting, playing cards, spending time with friends and family, and volunteering in the community.

Preceding her in death besides her husband is one son Robert Victor Fritch, and one sister, Ruth Suttmiller.
Funeral services for Marianne C. Fritch will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday (June 9, 2012) at Precious Blood Catholic Church in Jasper, with entombment to follow in the Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum. The American Legion Post #147 will conduct military graveside rights.
Friends may call from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Friday (June 8, 2012) at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.
