Margaret S. “Marge” Budnick, 80, Jasper

Margaret S. “Marge” Budnick, 80, of Jasper, passed away at Brookside Village in Jasper, Indiana, surrounded by family at 12:08 p.m. on Sunday, June 14, 2026, on the 58th wedding anniversary of she and her husband, Michael. 

Marge was born in Wichita, Kansas, on May 24, 1946, to Robert and Anita (Hotchkiss) Archibald. 

She married Michael J. Budnick on June 14, 1968, at Mt. Vernon Presbyterian Church in Wichita, Kansas.

She was a 1964 graduate of Wichita Southeast High School.

She was a homemaker and worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Huntingburg and at Heartland Cardiology in Jasper.  

She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana.

She enjoyed playing cards, gardening, reading, watching movies, sewing, crafting, and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend, and loved her family dearly.

She is survived is her husband, Michael J. Budnick of Jasper; four children, Scott (Shannon) Budnick of Louisville, Amy (Dominic) Thiel of New Albany, Ohio, Ellen (Michael) Tubbs of Jasper and Paul (Susan) Budnick of Arlington, Mass.; nine grandchildren, Abby Phelps, Maria Thiel, Andrew Tubbs, Chloe Tubbs, Koepler Budnick, Dillon Budnick, Frances Budnick, George Budnick, and Roy Budnick; two sisters, Jane (Mel) Holman of Maricopa, Ariz., Robin (Bob) Lamb of Kansas City, Mo., and one brother, Mark (Ginger) Archibald of Wichita, Kansas; and nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are her parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Margaret S. Budnick will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana, with burial to follow at a later date in Fairview Cemetery. 

A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. Mass time at the church on Saturday, June 27, 2026.
