Margaret A. Blessinger, 74, Jasper

Margaret A. Blessinger, 74, of Jasper, passed away at 12:36 a.m. on Friday, September 7, 2018, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.

Margaret was born in Jasper on November 24, 1943, to Oscar and Elizabeth (Merchant) Bohnert. She married Eugene “Lenny” Blessinger on February 8, 1964, in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana. He preceded her in death on May 3, 2016.

Margaret was a homemaker and was previously a babysitter. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially flower gardening, and get-togethers with family and friends.

She is survived by two daughters, Stacey (Chris) Willis of Allegan, Mich. and Kristin Blessinger of Jasper; two sons, Tom (Christy) Blessinger of Jasper and Brian Blessinger of Jasper; four grandchildren, Blake Blessinger, Britteny Watkins, Justin Wright and Amy Wright; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Jane Flores of Jasper.

Preceding her in death beside her husband is one sister, Phyllis Boeglin.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Margaret A. Blessinger will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.

A visitation will be held from 3:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.
