Marcella (Sally) Fleck, 91

Marcella (Sally) Fleck, 91, of Ireland, passed away at 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 30, 2015, at her home.

She was born in Ireland, Indiana on May 22, 1923 to Andrew and Fidelia (Hurst) Goeppner. She married Henry L. Fleck on October 19, 1950 in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland, Indiana. He preceded her in death on November 3, 2009.

Marcella retired from the Ireland Elementary School where she was a supervisor at cafeteria for thirty years also was a cook at the Jasper Knights of Columbus and the Chicken Place in Ireland. She was also a member of St. Ann’s in Ireland and the Daughters of Isabella and Ladies Auxillary to V.F.W. Post # 673 in Jasper.

She is a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland.

She enjoyed gardening and quilting and applique.

She is survived by two daughters, Betty Knies and her husband Pat of Jasper and Linda K. Harris and her husband Daniel of Ireland; four grandchildren, Nathan P. Knies, Alyssa Knies Seger, Christopher M. Knies and Katie A. Knies; seven great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; one brother, Ray Goeppner and wife Glenda of Jasper.

Preceding her in death besides her husband are three brothers, Herbert, Anthony, and Emil Goeppner and three sisters, Bertha Haas and Colletta and Maria Goeppner, both who died in infancy.

Funeral services for Marcella Fleck will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2015, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church with burial to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Ireland.

Friends may call two hours before services at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland.
