Marcella M. Gogel, 88

Marcella M. Gogel, 88, of Mariah Hill passed away Wednesday October 1, 2014 in Scenic Hills Care Center, Ferdinand.

She was born December 16, 1925 in Ferdinand to Joseph & Mathilda (Nord) Wilmes. She married Chester J. Gogel August 8, 1946 in St. Ferdinand Church, he preceded her in death on June 12,1958. Marcella retired from the Abbey Press in 1990.

Marcella was a member of Mary Help Of Christians Church and its Christian Mothers Society, Santa Claus American Legion Auxillary, Ferdinand Senior Citizens. She enjoyed Quilting, sewing and playing cards.

She was preceded in death by 3 daughters, Alice Kemper and Cindy & Mary Gogel in infancy. 1 son, Larry Gogel in infancy. 1 grandson, Todd Werne, 1 sister Hilda Oser, 6 brothers, Urban, Oscar, Clarence, Ernest, Hubert, & Dennis Wilmes.

She is survived by four sons, John Gogel and his wife, Lois, Randy Gogel and his wife, Laverne, both of Mariah Hill, Rick Gogel and his wife, Devona, of Lamar, and Harold Gogel and his wife, Linda, of Santa Claus; two daughters, Judy Eckerle and husband, Kerry and Diane Hoppenjans and her husband, Alvin, both of Ferdinand. 25 grandchildren & 31 great-grandchildren also survive. one brother, Joseph Wilmes of Ferdinand and one sister, Margaret Fetter of Ferdinand.

Funeral services 10:00 a.m. CST Monday in Mary Help Of Christians Church, Mariah Hill, burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. CST Sunday and from 7:00 to 9:30 a.m. CST Monday at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand.
