Marcella A. Balbach, 87

Marcella A. Balbach, 87, of Dale passed away Monday evening in Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh.

Marcella was born October 5, 1926 in Spencer County to Albert and Therese (Schum) Hohl. She married Louis A. Balbach on October 26, 1946 in Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church. Louis died April 23, 1991.

Marcella was a member of Santa Claus Legion Auxillary; Christian Mothers; Santa Claus Senior Citizens and St. Joseph Parish in Dale. Marcella enjoyed playing cards, visiting with friends and family, gardening, traveling and farming with her husband Louis for many years.

Marcella is survived by four sons, David Balbach and wife Diane, Ron Balbach and wife Mary, John Balbach and wife Marian, all of Dale, Rick Balbach and wife Kim of Santa Claus; three daughters, Barbara Powers and husband Jerry, Karen Grossand husband Monty, all of Evansville, Jenny Morales and husband Reynaldo of Columbus, Ga.; nineteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren also survive.

Marcella was preceded in death by a two brothers, Cletus Hohl and Joseph Hohl in infancy; a sister, Imelda Price

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. CST on Friday, September 26th in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dale with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday from 3-8 p.m. CST at the church and Friday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Becher Funeral Home, Ferdinand is in charge of arrangements.
