Man killed when truck struck by train near Duff

Update: According to Dubois County Coroner Bob Veatch, Cody Keith, 27, Evansville, was killed in the crash.

Authorities were called to the crash on the Norfolk Southern tracks near the intersection of County Road 600W and County Road 400S at about 7 p.m. Thursday.

Police said when they arrived the truck was on the south side of the tracks off the road and the Keith was deceased in the truck.

Crews worked for over an hour attempting to extricate him from the mangled remains of the vehicle. The road was closed for about three hours.

The incident is still under investigation and further details will be released later.

The Huntingburg Volunteer Fire Department, Huntingburg First Responders, Memorial Hospital Emergency Medical Services, Dubois County Coroner’s Office and a Sternberg’s wrecker assisted at the scene.
