Man charged with molestation, battery counts

A Jasper man charged with Level 1 and Level 4 felony counts of child molestation as well as battery and child solicitation turned himself in at the Dubois County Security Center last Friday

The charges stem from an investigation by the Indiana State Police that began on June 27, 2018, when they received a report of the allegations against Clayton T. Nordhoff,  23, of 4441 Downey Street, Jasper.

Court documents indicate the incidents involving the 5-year-old victim occurred between June 1 and June 26.

Based on the investigation, Nordhoff is charged with the felony counts of child molestation as well as a Level 5 felony count of battery resulting in bodily injury to a person less than 14 years of age and a Level 5 felony count of child solicitation.

Nordhoff made an initial court appearance Friday in the Dubois County Circuit Court and then posted a $20,000 bond later that day.
