Man charged in Jasper Public Library vandalism

Police charged a Jasper resident with three charges connected to the vandalism of the Jasper Public Library that occurred during the early morning hours of May 6.

Deontae T. Wigodinski, 22, of Portersville Road, was arrested on counts of obstruction of justice, criminal mischief and false informing on Monday, May 11, at about 1:21 p.m.

Mr. Wigodinski is alleged to have shattered two windows at the library and attempted to cause additional damage, but was unsuccessful. Investigators believe that after returning home, Mr. Wigodinski disposed of clothing believed to be connected to the incident.
