Mabel Nalley, 91, Oakland City

Mabel Nalley, 91, Oakland City, passed away at 10:56 a.m. CST Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana.

She was born June 26, 1925, in Gibson County, Indiana to Gaines and Rosa (Usery) Nalley.

Mabel worked at Gossard’s in Huntingburg for 16 and a half years and then at the Snack Bar, as a clerk, at Oakland City University for 24 years.  She was a member of New Liberty General Baptist Church in Coe; enjoyed flowers and gardening; and loved and was proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mabel was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Milford Nalley, Millard Nalley, Robert Nalley and Warner Nalley; one grandchild, Trevor Nalley; and one great-grandchild, Gabe Meece.

She is survived by seven children, Don (Joyce) Nalley of Evansville, Brenda Young of Francisco, Linda (David) Williams of Elberfeld, David (Kim) Nalley of Oakland City, Dale (Martha) Nalley of Oakland City, Janell Lee of Winslow and Brett (Krissy) Nalley of Stendal; one brother, Ray (Marlene) Nalley of Oakland City; by 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and (1) great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services for Mabel Nalley will be held at 2:00 p.m. EST Sunday, January 8, 2017, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at New Liberty Cemetery in Coe, Indiana.  Pastor Gary Pancake will officiate at the service.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00-8:00 p.m. EST Saturday; and also from noon to 2:00 p.m. EST Sunday.  Memorial contributions can be made to the New Liberty Cemetery Fund c/o David Nalley, 2594 E.
