M. Jane Olinger, 71, Indianapolis

M. Jane Olinger, 71, Indianapolis, formerly of Ferdinand, passed away Monday, March 28, 2016, in the care of her sisters, Rita and Mary Ellen, at Rita’s home in Fishers after a 10 month battle with cancer. This was a 3rd and final bout with cancer since age 49.
She was born at Evansville on Sept. 30, 1944, to Emil and Alice Olinger.
Jane was a graduate of St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Evansville Class of 1965. She worked ICU at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis for 30 years. She retired 5 years ago and was able to enjoy several years of tennis and travel with her many friends.
She is survived by her son, John Paul and 2 grandsons, Lunden and Ellis of Indianapolis; 2 sisters, Rita (Wayne) Jones of Indy and Mary Ellen (Leo) Will of Evansville; brothers, John (Pierrett) of Lowell, MI, Steve of Westfield, and Tom (Sandra) of San Jose, CA; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Alice Olinger, and her brother, surfer Joe Olinger.
Her wish was to be cremated and a Celebration of Life Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 7 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Indianapolis. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until mass.
