Luella Bredhold, 95, Cape Coral, Fla. (updated)

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday March 21st with visitation to be held from 9:00 to 10:00 in the back of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Luella Bredhold, 95, of Cape Coral, Fla., passed away Friday, February 16, 2024.

Luella was born on July 29, 1928, in Jasper. She was the second child of Jacob and Coletta Lechner.

After graduating from Jasper High School in 1946, she attended Lockyear College in Evansville.

She married Clarence Bredhold on October 22, 1949, at St. Joseph Church in Jasper. They enjoyed 65 years together.

They lived and worked in Evansville. After 38 years, she retired as an executive secretary at Whirlpool. In 1989, they retired to Pine Island, Fla., where they were active in church and several service and civic clubs. Luella and Clarence were world travelers visiting 65 different countries. She wrote two books about their global adventures.

Luella was the last surviving family member of her generation but had 26 nieces and nephews.

Luella was proceeded on death by her two sisters, Wilma Jeanne Seger of Jasper and Romilda Padgett of Winslow.

Her ashes will be buried with her husband’s ashes in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 21, 2024, with visitation to be held from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. in the back of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
