Lucille T. Lubbehusen, 90, Dale

Lucille T. Lubbehusen, 90, of Dale, passed away at 4:42 p.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at Brookside Village in Jasper.

She was born January 4, 1936, in Spencer County, to Emil and Anna (Tretter) Gogel.

Lucille married Louis E. Lubbehusen.

Lucille graduated from Dale High School in 1954.

She was a devoted member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dale, and was also a member of the Christian Mothers and the Red Hat Society. She previously served as treasurer for the Dale Community Apartments. 

Lucille was known for her beautiful hand-stitched quilts and for the many special things she made in the kitchen, especially her turtle soup, pies, and cookies.

Above all, she treasured time with her family and the memories they shared.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Louis E. Lubbehusen; her son, Louis “Eddie” Lubbehusen; her daughters, Janet Hirsch and Paula Fulks; her brothers, Joseph and Eugene John Gogel; and her sisters, Rosemary Sitzman and Mildred Rummel.

She is survived by her children, Diana (Larry) Broerman, Dorothy Hamblet, Tom (Hester) Lubbehusen, Mark (Karen) Lubbehusen, Mary Jo (Paul) Seib, John (Kay Matthews) Lubbehusen, Mike (Lori) Lubbehusen, Kevin (Tammy) Lubbehusen and Jerry (Sara) Lubbehusen; sons-in-law, Robert Hirsch and Gregg Fulks; sisters, Anastasia Kern and Ruth (Bill) Schwinghammer; brother, Herb Gogel; brother-in-law, David Rummel; sister-in-law, Mildred Snyder; and by 25 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild due in early 2027.

A funeral mass for Lucille T. Lubbehusen will be held at 10:00 a.m. CDT (11:00 a.m. EDT) on Monday, October 5, 2026, at St. Francis of Assisi, St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dale.  Father Martin Estrada will officiate the Mass.  Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Dale.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. CDT (3:00 to 7:00 p.m. EDT), on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at St. Francis of Assisi, St. Joseph Catholic Church; and also from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. CDT (10:00 to 11:00 a.m. EDT) on Monday, prior to the Mass at church.  There will be a prayer vigil held at 6:00 p.m. CDT (7:00 p.m. EDT) on Sunday at the church, followed by a rosary. 

Rainey Funeral Home in Dale has been entrusted with handling the arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Francis of Assisi, St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dale or the Lange/Fuhs Cancer Center.
