LuAnn Jacob, 71, Lamar

LuAnn Jacob, 71, passed away at home on January 3, 2025, with her family alongside her. 

 She was born in Tell City, the daughter of Lloyd and Bonnie (Bender) Stiles. 

A 1972 graduate of Tell City High School, LuAnn was united in marriage to Michael J. Jacob on September 29, 1973, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Tell City.  

 She had worked at Professional Eyecare Associates, Doctors Gilbert and Buss, and Lincoln Trail/Clay-Huff Elementary Schools before retiring as a pharmacy technician at Dale Pharmacy. 

 LuAnn always looked forward to traveling, especially to the mountains or a warm beach. She took pride and fully embraced her roles as a wife, mother and grandmother. LuAnn considered this her greatest accomplishment in life. 

Her husband of 52 years, Mike Jacob, survives her along with her children, Gail Flannagan (Patrick), Jeremy Jacob (Dezaray) and Charity Elkins (Chad); grandchildren, Brooke Flannagan-Kane (Austin), Jacob Flannagan, Emma Jacob, Nathan Jacob, Jaci Jacob, Henry Elkins and E.J. Elkins and her brothers, Don Stiles (Jane), Sam Stiles (Patti) and Wayne Stiles.  

 Her parents, Lloyd and Bonnie Stiles; a sister, Barbara Gentry and a sister-in-law, Betty Stiles, preceded her in death. 

 Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM CST on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel, with burial in St. Mary Cemetery.

 Visitation will be from 3:00 until 7:00 PM on Tuesday and from 9:00 AM until service time on Wednesday. 

 Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Heart to Heart Hospice.
