LTTE: Christians should already have their minds made up in election

While watching a TV host interview a minister the host asked the question “Who do you support for President?”. The ministers answer was “I haven’t made up my mind yet.”

Can you imagine a man of God, Christians anywhere, who has studied the Word of God, not knowing that question?

If abortion, gay marriage is an abomination to the Lord, then it has to be that for us.

While driving south we saw a road sign that read, whoa, whoa baby this is no race track. We were amused and it made us think.

When God says “woe…. we better think. He says “woe” unto them that calls evil good and good evil!

We sing God Bless America, we say God Bless America but how can we expect His blessings on our country when we don’t respect His word. Jesus did not apologize or back down.

It is time to silence the ignorance and evil of foolish leaders in the White House and Congress

  1. Looking fwd to casti.g my ballot for Obama.Religion has no place in politics as Americans are diverse in their religious beliefs.Hindus,Muslims,Christians,Mormons and athiest etc. Seperation of Church and State forever! That or start taxing them immediately.

    1. Religion has every place in politics. Thomas Paine wrote on this point, which schools don’t like to repeat. The reason government exists is because we are not perfect. Otherwise summarized, government exists in the vaccuum of morality. Religion and government go hand in hand as two things that exist next to each other, respecting each other, and working together to hold society together.
History shows two things, government corrupts the church when the two merge. Government should never be in the business of dictating morality, that is the role of the church. BUT…
When government oversteps its bounds and goes into the realm of morality, picking and choosing the winners/losers of life, and picking via law who can be murdered or cared for the church must stand up and fight back.
We live in such a time where Obama, Democrats voted in the tax sponsoring of abortion (the murder of a baby) via Obamacare. A moral people understand this is wrong and not the role of the government and these people are not fit to be in office because they are for tyranny.
This might be new to you, but the truth is as I just wrote. You make other points that one can understand. Government should be limited and not into picking winners and losers via the tax code or regulations. Obama stands for this very thing, so you logic for Obama doesn’t make sense. You want equal treatment, yet the man you support doesn’t agree with you. Not that Romney is a saint of perfection, but you must see the erro of your logic.

      1. Lovely how you say Government corrupts the church. This basically leaves out all the corruption the church does to it self. How did the Lutheran church come about? Can anyone think of any recent religious corruptions?

Regardless, if you want the government out of religion then get religion out of government. Why not tax churches? Why should our taxes be artificially higher to support a church that is more than a place of worship? It is like a double whammy: not only do we lose the benefit of a tax paying entity on the property generating tax revenue for the city but we also pay a little more in taxes due to that lost tax revenue.

That would be the free market wouldn’t. If the church is good enough it should need to be “subsidized.” It is not like the tax free status is being fairly used with more churches taking positions on politics.

        Also…
The ACA does not pay for abortions.

Relgious institutions are exempt from the ACA. Of course some argue that a Religious business is a religious instiution. I disagree. A catholic hospital is a hospital. Chic-fil-a is a fast food joint. Here is how it is defined in the law:
“(1) has the inculcation of religious values as its purpose; (2) primarily employs persons who share its religious tenets; (3) primarily serves persons who share its religious tenets; and (4) is a nonprofit organization under specific sections of the Internal Revenue Code.”

As well, taxes do not abide a conscientious objector: you don’t get to choose whether your taxes pay for a war.

You said, “Government should be limited and not into picking winners and losers…” But this is precisely what the Extreme Right wants to do. Prohibit same-sex marriage and force others to accept their definition of “baby” being a fertilized egg.

      2. Do you mean the Thomas Paine who said “I do not believe in the creed professed by the Jewish church, by the Roman church, by the Greek church, by the Turkish church, by the Protestant church, nor by any church that I know of. My own mind is my own church. All national institutions of churches, whether Jewish, Christian or Turkish, appear to me no other than human inventions, set up to terrify and enslave mankind, and monopolize power and profit.”?

I don’t believe he would agree with any of the things that you are trying to push for and neither would any of the framers of the Constitution. As someone pointed out above, The Constitution clearly protects everyone’s freedom of religion. That doesn’t mean it protects everyone’s freedom to follow the beliefs of YOUR religion, nor that of any majority. For a government or any member of that government to promote one religion over another, or any religion at all, is a violation of the Constitution. If we’re picking and choosing what we go by regarding the rules we have set in place for ourselves in order to better accommodate one group over another then the greatness of this country – land of the free…all men created equal…WE the people – is greatly diminished.

I have nothing against any religion. Just the people who take it too far and think everyone should have to believe as they do. I guess that goes for politics as well. I love that we have the freedom to choose – though most people forget there is more than just a right and left side – and I accept that some people won’t make the same choices I do. To claim that religion should be a part of politics and, getting back to the article above, that religious people, sorry, CHRISTIANS, should have a clear choice in candidates shows a real ignorance in what this country is supposed to be about.

      3. You want to talk about abortion being covered by Obamacare you need to look into the Massachusetts health care system that Romney implemented. You might be surprised that abortion is also covered in Romneycare also.

  2. I look forward to seeing Barrack Hussein Obama pack his bags. I’m tired of all the hand outs and bailouts. The government is not a charity foundation. It is a business, and should be ran like one. If we keep just handing out money to people who do not deserve it we will keep increasing our debt. We need Americans to get their work ethic back, and it’s time to stop paying people who are able to work but are just too lazy to sit around and do nothing.

  3. This is ignorant and hateful and makes me glad I got away from that area of the country. I can respect another person having their own opinion, and even the voicing of that opinion, but there is a limit to it. I agree with the commenter below that religion has no place whatsoever in politics and government. There are more than just Christians in this country and the Constitution, whether you like it or not, clearly protects the rights of every one of them. Jewish, Muslim, Christian, Atheist…it doesn’t matter what you believe. The Constitution gives us freedom of religion, amongst other rights, and protects the few from the majority. It’s supposed to anyway. Unfortunately there are voices like this, however well-intentioned they may be, that are loud enough to annoy/scare politicians into caving and agreeing with one of the many sides to this countries varied stories.

  4. Christians! Death sentence and killing during war is okay, but abortion is not. Hypocrites and dumb. Religion is outdated and holds us back. A story of a zombie born of a virgin, REALLY?
