Louanna C. Nuhring, 79

Louanna C. Nuhring, age 79, of Huntingburg, Indiana, passed away at 5:43 p.m., Friday, February 28, 2014 at the Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper.

She was born October 21, 1934 in Portersville, Indiana to Hilbert and Eldena (Harder) Popp.

She married Robert R. Nuhring on May 4, 1954 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hayesville.

Louanna was a homemaker; a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Huntingburg, the Salem Women’s Guild and the Patoka Valley Quilters Guild; and loved to cook and sew.

She was preceded in death by: her mother and father; and her husband, Robert R. Nuhring, who passed away on January 21, 1991.

She is survived by her three daughters and two son-in-laws, Marilyn Francis of Huntingburg, Ruth (Robert) Gaesser of Dale, and Carol (Dave) Buechler of Huntingburg; three brothers and three sister-in-laws, Robert (Myrna) Popp of Jasper, James (Linda) Popp of Jasper, and Fred (Charlotte) Popp, all of Jasper; by seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Louanna Nurhing will be held at 10 a.m., EST, on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Fairmount Cemetery in Huntingburg.
