Lorraine Rene (Halbleib) Gehlhausen, 89, Jasper, died on November 20, 2016, at Northwood Good Samaritan in Jasper.

She was born June 11, 1927, to George and Nettie Alice (Wilkey) Altmeyer. She married Alvin R. (Hobby) Halbleib on February 11, 1948 and the ceremony was officiated by Rev. Justin Snyder O.S.B. Her hobbies included gardening, fishing, hunting and getting hugs.

She is survived by a daughter Pattie and Duane Wagler of Lamar; a son, Jim (Hobby) and Becky Halbleib of Jasper; two grandchildren, Jim (Hobby II) and Cheryl Halbleib of Indianapolis and Jeremy and Melissa Wagler of Ferdinand; four great grandchildren, Jim (Hobby III) and Kyla of Indianapolis and Emma and Elise of Ferdinand; a brother, Donnie Gehlhausen of Washington, Ind.; a sister, Luanna Altmeyer of North Carolina.

She was preceded in death by her husband on July 25, 1956; one son, Larry J. Halbleib; brothers, George Jr., Herman, Robert, Harvey and David Altmeyer; sisters, Rosalind (Don) Daugherty, Henrietta (John) King, Georgie (Ellen) Gregory and Louise (Harold) Morgan.

Private services will be held at a later date.
