Loraine Blume, 94

Loraine Blume, age 94, of Huntingburg, passed away at 8:55 p.m., Monday, April 7, 2014, at Brookside Village Senior Living Community in Jasper.
She was born in Jasper October 18, 1919, to Robert and Mary (Harker) Denk. She married Gustav Blume Aug. 19, 1937, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper.
Loraine is survived by six daughters, Rose Marie “Rosie” Bartley and husband Ralph of Jasper, Jeanette Becher and husband Frank of Ferdinand, Phyllis Lilly and husband David of Georgetown, Carole Sue Tabor and husband Chuck of Clemmons, N.C., Roberta Miller and husband Donald of Longmont, Colo., and Vicki Dall and husband Steve of Indianapolis; three sons, Donald Blume and wife Patricia of Huntingburg, Gus A. Blume and wife Debbie of Ferdinand, and Ken Blume and wife Lyn of Huntingburg; one sister-in-law, Rose Lee Denk of Jasper; 30 grandchildren; 64 great grandchildren; and 14 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gustav Blume, who died August 25, 1983; a brother, Eugene Denk; a grandchild, Braden Miller; and two great grandchildren.
Mrs. Blume was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg and St. Mary’s Ladies Sodality; and was a former member of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed quilting and gardening.
Funeral services for Loraine Blume will be held at 10:00 a.m., EDT, on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Father Ryan Hilderbrand will officiate.
Friends may call for visitation from 4:00-8:00 p.m., on Wednesday, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. A rosary will be prayed at 7:45 p.m., Wednesday evening, at the funeral home.
