Lola E. Philpot, 84

Lola E. Philpot, 84, of Winslow, passed away at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 2, 2015, in Petersburg.

She was born February 16, 1931 in Augusta, Indiana, to Justus and Berniece (Eckert) Roettger.

Lola was a homemaker and a Certified Nurse’s Assistant. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Stendal and loved animals, especially dogs.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Nikki Gleason.

She is survived by six daughters, Rhonda Owing of Florida, Sheila Bailey of Nicholasville, Ky., Shirlene Ramsey of Lexington, Ky., Donna Applegate of Richmond, Ky., Brigitte Johnson of California, and Karen Finley of Georgetown, Ky.; one sister, Carol Astrike of Winslow; three brothers, Jim (Revil) Roettger of Tell City, Roger (Sherry) Eckert of Stendal and Mike (Pat) Eckert of Huntingburg; by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Lola Philpot will be held at 2:00 p.m. EDT Friday, June 5, 2015, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Cemetery in Stendal, Indiana.  Reverend Ed Wicks will officiate at the service.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from noon to 2:00 p.m. EDT Friday, the day of the funeral.
