Lois J. Patton, 89, Huntingburg

Lois J. Patton, 89, of Huntingburg, passed away on Monday, December 18, 2023, at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper.

She was born on January 1, 1934, to John T. and Mary Melissa (Harris) Kendall.

She was a graduate of Huntingburg High School class of 1952.

She married John H. Patton of Taswell on July 19, 1952, in Huntingburg at Rev. Parks’s home. Lois was a member of the First Christian Church and later the Central Christian Church. She was passionate about her church and family. She was a loving mother to her eight children.

She retired as a dietary aide from St. Joseph’s Hospital after 25 years.

Lois enjoyed all kinds of cooking for family and friends, most of all jelly and pies.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; a son-in-law, Daniel Schilling; a grandchild, Ally Patton; and ten siblings, Emma Logston, Sarah Mayo, Ethel Hall, Nancy Schaeffer, Albertson, Clarence, Frieda, Everett, Ted and Russell Kendall.

She is survived by her children, Judy (Bill) Schilling-Keller of Edmond, Okla., Ron Patton of Huntingburg, Debra (Leonard) Voegerl of Jasper, Jerry (Annette) Patton of Huntingburg, Randy (Marie) Patton of Jasper, Robert Patton of Huntingburg, Doug Patton of Huntingburg, John (Tricia) Patton of Huntingburg; 14 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews of which she helped raise.

Visitation and funeral services for Lois Patton will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Central Christian Church in Huntingburg. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. EST.

Burial will take place at Fairmount Cemetery following the service.

Pastor Jason Rea will officiate.
