Local students shine at Noetic Learning Math Contest

Students from Southwest Dubois County School Corporation recently demonstrated exceptional problem-solving skills in the Noetic Learning Math Contest (NLMC) — a national mathematics competition that challenges elementary and middle school students to think critically and creatively.

The Noetic Math Contest is a nationwide, semi-annual problem-solving competition for students in grades 2–8 that emphasizes deep thinking and logical deduction. Unlike traditional tests, the contest presents students with non-routine problems designed to stretch their mathematical reasoning. Participating schools register teams of students who work to solve 20 thoughtfully crafted problems over a 45-minute period.

We are thrilled to congratulate Brooks Hilsmeyer, a 6th-grader at Southridge Middle School, who earned a place on the National Honor Roll — a distinction awarded to students who score in the top tier of all participants in their division nationwide.

These students demonstrated strong reasoning and perseverance, and we are proud of their hard work and achievements.

Congratulations to all of our mathletes for their diligence, determination, and outstanding results in this national competition!
