Serenity Hopster, 7, accompanied Jasper Mayor Terry Seitz today during the Jasper Board of Public Works. Serenity will be shadowing the mayor as the honorary mayor for a day that was auctioned off in a recent silent auction at Fifth Street Elementary. After the public works meeting, Serenity accompanied Police Chief Nathan Schmitt to work on paperwork to hire a new police officer, toured the office and then headed over to Azura for breakfast with the mayor. She will hang out with Mayor Seitz until 11 so she can make it back to school for lunch. Serenity’s parents are Kristi Hopster and Robert McKinney.
