Linus F. Rahman, 90

Linus F. Rahman, 90, of Ferdinand, passed away Monday, November 4, 2013, at Memorial Health Center in Jasper.
He was born June 25, 1923, in Spencer County to Frank and Christine (Pund) Rahman.
Linus married Hilda Metzger on August 26, 1947, in Saint Ferdinand Catholic Church.
Linus is survived by his wife of 66 years, Hilda; four sons, Alan and spouse Georgia, Edwin and spouse Gloria, Steve and spouse Angela all of Ferdinand, and Frank and spouse Mary of Santa Claus; seven daughters, Marcella Harpenau and spouse Paul of Branchville, Margaret Hoffman and spouse David, Mary Jo Giesler and spouse William, Doris Klem and spouse Bernard “Butch”, all of Ferdinand, Carol Lueken and spouse Kenneth of Hatfield, MO, Martha Demuth and spouse Charles of St. Meinrad, Connie Mundy and spouse Steve of Jasper; 27 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren also survive.
Linus was preceded in death by two brothers, Herbert Rahman, Henry Rahman and a sister Marcella Rahman.
Linus was a retired dairy farmer since 1988. He was a member of the Ferdinand American Legion Post 124; Saint Ferdinand Catholic Church and its St. Joseph Sodality; and a lifetime member of Merrills’ Marauders 475th 2nd Battalion. Linus received the American Theater Ribbon, Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon with four Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medal, Distinguished Unit Badge, WW II Victory Medal, Bronze Star Medal and China Ribbon.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-8:00 p.m. and from 7-9:30 a.m. Thursday at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Ferdinand Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Ferdinand American Legion Post 124 will conduct Military Graveside Rights.
