Linus Bauer, 73

Linus Bauer, age 73, of Dubois, passed away Friday afternoon, October 4, 2013, at home.

Linus was born on December 25, 1939 in Hickory Grove in Dubois County to Peter and Irene (Wolf) Bauer. He married Mary Rasche on December 30, 1992 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville, IN.

Linus worked for Wabash Valley Produce for 48 years, from which he retired. He also owned Bauer Farms and Linus Bauer Trucking in Dubois, IN.

He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville, IN. He was a past member of the Dubois Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of the Dubois County Sportsman’s club, the Dubois Community Club, and the Dubois Jaycees. He was a little league coach at Dubois for many years.

He enjoyed fishing and watching his grandchildren play sports, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Bauer, of Dubois, IN; one daughter, Sandra Bauer, of Jasper, IN; three sons, Greg Bauer and his wife Jennifer, Ronald C. Bauer and his wife Debbie, and Jon Bauer and his wife Tiffany, all of Dubois, IN; 11 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ed Bauer and his wife Joan, and Carl Bauer and his wife Robin, both of Jasper, IN;

Preceding Linus in death was one daughter, Kathy Bauer-Voelkel, and two sisters, Martha Weisheit, and Linda Bauer.

Funeral services for Linus Bauer will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville, IN, with burial to follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery in Haysville, IN. Pastor Charla Grieves will officiate.

Friends may call from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper, and one hour before services at the church on Wednesday.
