“Lincoln: A Pioneer Tale” returning for a limited six-performance run in July

After a quiet 2015 (as far as theatrical productions are concerned), the Lincoln Amphitheatre’s signature event, A. Lincoln: A Pioneer Tale, is returning for a limited six-performance run July 7, 8, 9, 14, 15, and 16.

All performances will begin at 7 p.m. central time.

The performances mark not only a celebratory return to the amphitheatre’s stage, but also serve as recognition and celebration of the bicentennial year for the State of Indiana, as well as the bicentennial of the Lincoln family’s arrival to southern Indiana.

“This remarkable facility was built to honor the formative years Abraham Lincoln spent in southern Indiana,” said Marc Steczyk, Lincoln Amphitheatre’s director.  “I think it’s extraordinarily fitting that A. Lincoln: A Pioneer Tale and its powerful Indiana story and narrative returns to its home stage during a year dedicated to celebrating 200 years of Hoosier life, living, and values.”

In this exciting musical production, the wonder of this humble American’s life will be brought to the stage.  A. Lincoln: A Pioneer Tale will navigate the 16th President’s journey from childhood to manhood in a musical extravaganza for the ages — showing young Abe Lincoln growing to manhood in Indiana, and, through determination of spirit and a compassion for the people, becoming one of the greatest Presidents in the history of the United States.  Audiences of all ages will experience and celebrate the life and times of this extraordinary man through song, dance, action and spectacle.
