Lillian F. Becher, 89, of Huntingburg, passed away at 6:55 p.m., on Friday, May 29, 2015 at The Village of Hamilton Pointe in Newburgh.

She was born July 14, 1925 in Ferdinand, Indiana, to Philip Schultheis, Sr. and Louise (Brockman) Schultheis. She married Cyrinus “Cy” A. Becher on June 25, 1946 at the St. Ferdinand Catholic Church in Ferdinand.

Lillian was a homemaker and part-time cafeteria assistant at Maple Park Elementary and Southridge Middle School for 30+ years. She worked at Servel in Evansville, during World War II, prior to her marriage. Lillian was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg, St. Mary’s Ladies Sodality, and the former St. Joseph’s Hospital Ladies Guild.

She was preceded in death by:  her husband, Cyrinus “Cy” Becher, who passed away February 22, 2006; six brothers, Philip, Joseph, William, Henry, Charles and Norman Schultheis; and one sister, Matilda Braunecker.

She is survived by two sons and two daughter-in-laws, Kevin (Martha) Becher of Louisville and Keith (Nicole) Becher of Sevierville, Tenn. two daughters and two son-in-laws, Lynda (George) Provence of Evansville and Karen (David) Young of Spring Lake, Mich.; 10 grandchildren, Desiree Becher, Ashley (Dustin) Bormet, Taylor Custer, Hunter Custer, Logan Custer, Leah Young, Carrie (Christina) Becher, Lisa (Ryan) Wachs, Jason (Crystal) Provence and Jennifer (Brandon) Sitzman,; by 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral services for Lillian F. Becher will be held at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, June 6, 2015, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Huntingburg.  The Funeral Mass will be officiated by Fr. Joseph Ziliak.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Friday.  A parish vigil prayer service will be held 6:00 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.  Memorial donations can be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or the Generations Meals on Wheels program.
