Letter: Your decisions won’t be forgotten
This letter is for our local politicians. Every single one of you. From Indianapolis down here to Jasper.
It is long past time to remind these individuals that their actions and decisions have a profound impact on all of us, our families, and our communities. And to remind them that each and every one of them works for us. To be our voices. I’m praying that the people I am referring to see this letter.
Thomas Jefferson warned, “When the government fears the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny.”
I believe his words are more relatable now than ever.
Once again, we, the people, have been deceived. At this point, I’m not surprised. These people get elected and quickly forget that they work for us. Making decisions on spending our tax dollars and impacting our families and communities. All to appease a very few. Just a handful of wealthy business people. The minority.
We all know who these people are. The same people in our communities who own businesses, that we see in church, restaurants, school events, etc. People who at one time, we believed were good, honest and hardworking. We, the people, elected them to be our voices. Not their own.
As a follower of Jesus and a man with a conscience, I am curious about a few things, and I welcome any feedback. Knowing what you are putting all of our families and communities through, how do you even sleep at night? How can you have such egos to still attend activities with us? You know, your constituents. How can you even show your faces in our communities at this point? Are you not concerned about life after politics and your businesses?
All for an unneeded and unwanted road. The Mid-States Corridor. Please know that what you all have done and continue to do won’t be forgotten by we, the people.
Shame on each and every one of you.
I’ll pray that God has mercy on your souls.
