Letter: Voting in the Primary is SO important
Historically, turnout for the primary elections has been extremely low, yet it is so important to help shape our future, especially at the local and state level.
Over the past year, our organization has continued to ask our local political leaders, state legislators and candidates to publicly state whether they are for or against the proposed Mid-States Corridor project. Several have publicly stated their opposition to this proposed project and their reasons why, while a couple have been clear on their support for the project, and others continue to avoid what should be a simple question – yes or no.
These candidates running in the primary have publicly stated their opposition to the Mid-States Corridor –
U.S. Congress District 8 – Mary Allen (D)
State Representative District 63 – Tiffanie Arthur (D)
State Representative District 63 – Antony Bolen (D)
Dubois County Commissioner – Doug Uebelhor (R)
State Senate District 39 – Kristi Risk (R)
Early voting is open, and the final day to vote is May 5th. Please plan to get out and vote and tell your family, friends and neighbors to vote.
