Letter to the Editor: Why I chose to bring my business to Huntingburg

Why have I made Dubois County, specifically Huntingburg, as my core investment of time, talent and treasures?

This question has been asked of me many times during conversations, and it is quite simple to answer. The City of Huntingburg exemplifies through Mayor Denny Spinner as the “Champion in Charge” and his team of professional city employees and business leaders many qualities that just can’t be found anywhere else.

They include:

  • Pride in ownership.
  • Respect of all residents’ desires and needs to enjoy choice of lifestyle.
  • Honesty and an old-fashioned handshake.
  • Desire to communicate and execute.
  • Vision and commitment.

Almost two years ago, I drove into the City of Huntingburg and was immediately impressed with the manicured parks and recreation areas and remarkable gateway of the city. I have felt upon introductions allegiance, passion and smiles of a City Like No Other!

The assembly of corporate leaders, knowledgeable citizens and individuals brought together by Mayor Spinner as part of the Stellar Committee have a vision as well as a commitment to accomplishing change in a manageable timeframe.

I wish to thank Mayor Spinner and his staff as we try to achieve a vision of Live – Work – Play here in Dubois County for all generations, both now and future residents.

I consider this county my second home because I believe it has the same qualities that Denny Spinner demonstrates in his daily role as Mayor of Huntingburg.
