Letter to the Editor: Thank you from the St. Henry Sesquicentennial Committee
The St. Henry Sesquicentennial Committee would like to take this opportunity to express our thanks to the many people who helped with this year’s 150th celebration – committee chairpersons, event judges, volunteers, the townspeople of St. Henry, and individuals and companies that allowed us to place our banners, signs, flyers and brochures in their yards and businesses.
We would also like to thank DC Broadcasting for their help in announcing and filming our parade, WBDC and WITZ for advertising, the Southridge and Forest Park FFA Clubs for sponsoring the kiddie tractor pull, the Early Days Antique Club for the old time demonstration and display, Boy Scouts Troop 102, Boy Scouts Troop 186, Forest Park Band Boosters, the Bungalow Bar and the CK of A for providing additional food stands during the celebration, the St. Henry Volunteer Fire Department and Best Home Furnishings for the wonderful car show, OFS for the trailer/stage, The Hiding for great late night entertainment, as well as the Rhein Valley Brass Band, the Recycled Teenagers and the Celebrations Singers for entertainment, Steckler Grassfed, Turtle Run Winery, Best Vineyards Winery, Monkey Hollow Winery, Windy Knoll Winery and Indian Creek Winery for the awesome wine tasting experience, Hedinger Beverage for supplying the beverages and signs, Wright-Stemle, Blesch Brothers and Hopf Equipment for the use of ATVs, Merkley Meats for the refrigerated truck, and the St. Henry Saints 4-H Club for helping to keep the grounds clean.
Thank you to the many volunteers who set-up the week before the fest, cleaned and grilled the barbecue chicken and pork chops, who worked in the food serving line, the hamburger stand, the beer garden, the gate workers, the St. Henry Christian Mothers, Fran Jerger and all who helped clean-up the day after. Thank you to everyone who helped support the Sesquicentennial Committee. If we missed anyone, it was not our intention, but please know your help was greatly appreciated.
A big thank you to our Grand Marshals for the parade, Shag & Dodie Schwinghamer and Nip Meyer.
Our 150th was a great success and we would like to thank everyone who came from near and far to celebrate with us! We had a wonderful time and we hope to see you back in the future!
Thank You!
Carrie Durcholz, Susan Wagner, Kevin Luebbehusen, and the late Margaret Steckler
