Letter to the Editor: Jasper leadership is creating a thriving city
I’m writing today to call attention to the enormous impact that next Tuesday’s primary election will have on the future of the City of Jasper. The Republican nominee for Jasper’s mayor will be determined, which means that now is the only opportunity that Republican voters will have to research and decide which of the primary mayoral candidates would be the strongest leader for our unique and remarkable city.
I grew up in Jasper and left to further my education, but I returned to Jasper because I knew that this was the only city where I wanted to raise my family and open my law practice. Under the leadership of Mayor Terry Seitz, Jasper has preserved the things that I cherish, such as a community centered on family and faith, while also making monumental strides to become quite attractive for entrepreneurs through initiatives like the city-wide fiber optics network and the Jasper Downtown + Riverfront Master Plan.
Mayor Seitz has proven that he can lead Jasper in positive social and economic growth through creativity and earnest dedication. In his first three years in office, he has participated in nearly sixty ribbon-cutting or groundbreaking ceremonies, illustrating that Jasper is a thriving community that welcomes and supports small local businesses, just like mine. In addition to maintaining a very active presence in our city, Mayor Seitz has built strong relationships with other state and local leaders, lawmakers, and agencies, collaborating to ensure that Jasper will continue to be an attractive place for entrepreneurs and young families for generations to come.
Tuesday, May 5th is Jasper’s primary election. Please take a few minutes out of your day and vote to re-elect Mayor Terry Seitz. Let’s continue on our path of innovation and positive community spirit. Jasper’s future depends on you.
