Letter to the Editor: Dance for Life

“We are devoted individuals inspired to do out of the ordinary things to help extra-ordinary people.  Part of our mission is quietly helping and changing lives with surprises throughout the area”.  Our group did just that at the “Dance for Life!” 2012 Strassenfest Flash Mob.  Our endeavor turned out to be far more than any of us that participated could imagine by instilling self-confidence in its members, renewing old and creating new friendships as well as making lifetime memories for those involved.

We would like to thank the following for an amazing celebration of life:  all of our dancers including many cancer survivors who put in hours of practice, made suggestions, and made this Flash possible; our tumblers, Sarah Monesmith and Grace Werner; the Core Members Lora Ross, Courtney Ross, Lori Luebbehusen, Amy Wanninger, Pam Wagner, Jana Gunselman, Sharon Loomis, and Tina Cyrill, who brainstormed, supported the group, found our cancers, and worked diligently since mid-March; Mollie Disinger for helping with the choreography and practice video; the Strassenfest Committee, especially Meredith Voegerl and Marcia and Gary Schnell; Sean Brescher and Natasha Fromme, Brescher Filming and Productions for giving of their time to record and put together our performance DVD; Bernie Vogler and Andy Noblitt for the use of their facilities for practice; Phil Fleming with JHS Colorguard for letting us borrow their ribbons and flags; the City for access to City Hall and Kathy Hopf for allowing us access to the Dubois County Courthouse Annex.  We also want to thank SecondWind for allowing us to take the stage before their performance.

Our goal for this FLASH MOB was to raise awareness for cancer as well as solicit donations for Reagan Hopf and Emily Truelove, two young girls currently fighting Cancer.  We all can help make this event even more successful in the form of donation and in prayer.  The information for each account is as follows:  Reagan Hopf Benefit Acct., Old National Bank Attn: Tellers, Jasper Main Office, 1 DCB Plaza, Jasper and Sara Truelove c/o Fifth Third Bank, 305 S Hwy 231, Jasper.  You may mail or drop off donations at either location.

With much gratitude,
Missy Krempp and Janet Beckman
