Letter: Restoring integrity to the sheriff’s office; Tim Lampert is the right choice for Dubois County

With the Sheriff race in full swing, I feel obligated to share my support and recommendation of Tim Lampert for Dubois County Sheriff. 

Being not only a community member and taxpayer of Dubois County, I am also a professional and community leader. I have had the privilege of working with many outstanding law enforcement officers throughout the last 20+ years, and I can say that Tim Lampert is in that category.

Not only is he an honest, ethical, strong leader, but he also has extensive experience in finance, supervision, and report compliance needed for the position of Sheriff.

He also has the administrative skills required for the position. Tim’s character does not waiver under pressure or outside influence. He has and will always serve with respect and concern to all members of the community. 

I have had the privilege of seeing the positive influence he has had on our youth and the many lives he has touched. I have also witnessed his partnerships with multiple organizations and agencies to improve systematic failures.

He holds himself and others to a higher standard, expecting the right thing to be done every time by everyone. We need a strong, honest, ethical leader who is a conservative spender who respects tax dollars and the people of Dubois County.

We need the Sheriff Department to be fair and equal to inmates and employees. We need an advocate for change in our failing systems. We need a community partner that is respected and welcome at the table of collaboration because they know he, too, wants better for Dubois County.

We need Tim Lampert as the next Dubois County Sheriff.
