Letter: Mid-States Corridor comment period ends July 1
The Federal Highway Administration has opened a comment period ending July 1. With limited time to express your personal views regarding this new highway construction, which will cost billions of your dollars, please take a couple of minutes and submit your comments.
You may submit anonymously or simply by name without additional personal information. Be as brief or as detailed with your opinion.
Consistent with their practices of low and quiet public notice, INDOT, LOCKMUELLER GROUP, and FWHA are again demonstrating, with only a 30-day comment period, that public disclosure and input are not a priority for them but just another box to check.
Example:
Department of Transportation
Federal Highway Administration
[Docket No. FHWA-2026-0562]
Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT).
Pursuant to a request for comment regarding the Mid States Corridor project in Dubois County, Indiana, I hold strong opposition to the proposed construction of this new terrain highway.
STOP THE MID STATES CORRIDOR PROJECT
Alternatively, improvements to US Highway 231 would improve accessibility, increase safety, economic development, and greatly reduce environmental impact. All at a massive cost reduction as compared to 4-lane, new terrain highway construction.

We need everyone to pitch in on this. We need to get the corridor project STOPPED at the federal level. Please follow through on this request for action. And reach out to family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, everyone you know, to comment also, and as quickly as possible.
Thank You
Roger Pund
Dubois County resident
