Letter: Memorial Hospital Auxiliary donates to help patients & families

The Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center Auxiliary would like to take this opportunity to say “thank you” to all who have supported sales in The 800 Gift Shop as we announce our plans to “give back” to the Hospital Community through the benefits of sale proceeds.

The Auxiliary which is made up of 625 members, approximately 100 of which are volunteers, operates the gift shop and puts on lobby sales with everything from books and purses to jewelry and soups. The Auxiliary then sells the items to staff, visitors, patients; anyone! Proceeds from these sales are then used to purchase equipment that benefits the hospital, its patients, and/or their families.

As a growing hospital serving people from nine counties, the necessity for updated equipment, materials, and furnishings is essential to address the boundless needs of our patients. This year alone, the Auxiliary will be supplying the hospital with several new state of the art machines such as a vein ultrasound system as well as furnishing different areas of the hospital and our area clinics with new furniture. Altogether, over $75,000 will be spent in new purchases.

The amount of impact these sales proceeds have on our hospital is huge and all of it is made possible by your support of sales in the lobby and at The 800 Gift Shop. So once again we would like to say “thank you” for helping us so that we can help you and the patients we serve! Your support allows us to continue to “Be for Others!”
