Letter: Make your opinion on the Mid-States Corridor known

“Those lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer, those days of soda and pretzels and beer” are upon us. The time for outdoor activities, county fairs, street festivals and general good feeling and fun. The time to celebrate our patriotism and show our support for our elected officials as they parade and sponsor our summer activities.

The Mid-States Corridor is one of those issues that community-minded organizations and elected officials sometimes try to hide from or ignore. Some organizations choose not to publicly state their position, and some elected officials play cagey and evade the question. Organizations and elected officials need to be held to account. It’s not in our best interest to allow them to avoid these issues because “Well, it’s always done right in the past” or “Well, he’s a good ol’ boy whose fun to be around”. No, we want support from these organizations and officials, we want them loud and leading the way, not meekly following.

In the effort to rid our community of the intrusive Mid-States Corridor, we need people, like Jason McCoy, who are willing to spend their time shining a light on the details of the MidStates Corridor that the Dubois/Spencer County Cabal don’t want known. We need our local organizations’ elected leaders to be more in the vein of Mr. McCoy

We all need to continue to bring our opposition to the Mid-States corridor to the attention of our local organizations, elected officials and community individuals. Remember, it just takes half of us to say “No” to stop the Corridor.
