Letter: I received a letter from Gov. Mike Braun
Today, I received a letter from Governor Mike Braun congratulating my family on receiving the Hoosier Homestead Award.
The letter says in part, “The Hoosier Homestead Award is a well-earned tribute to the generations of your family who have worked tirelessly to preserve and grow this legacy. Your farm’s history is woven into the very fabric of Indiana’s story, and your continued stewardship ensures that future generations will carry forward this proud tradition. Congratulations again on this remarkable achievement. Your hard work and dedication exemplify the best of Indiana, and I am gratefully (sic) for the contributions you have made to our state’s agricultural heritage. May your farm and family continue to flourish for generations to come.”
Our family would very much like to preserve and grow this legacy, carry forward this proud tradition, and have our farm continue to flourish for generations to come. Unfortunately, if the Governor’s Department of Transportation and the businesses pushing the Mid-States Corridor have their way, 174 years of our family history will be bulldozed and paved over to build an unwanted and unneeded road that will benefit almost nobody and make life harder for a great many of our farms, businesses, and family.
It’s time to stop this waste of our land and tax dollars. Please help everyone affected by making your opposition loud and clear to the Governor, state, federal, and local legislators, INDOT, and your neighbors and friends.
Working together, we can stop the Mid-States Corridor.
