Let’s Do Lunch changes hands

Gregory DuPont is looking forward to making some changes to the popular deli on the Square in Jasper.

Let’s Do Lunch changed hands quietly at the beginning of the month. Gregory DuPont took the reins from Kathy Merkley as the new owner on September 1 and he brings some new ideas to the popular deli on the square in Jasper.

DuPont was developing a concept for a restaurant similar to Let’s Do Lunch when he learned that Merkley wanted to sell.

“I just found out about the deli about three weeks before I took over and it fit into what I wanted to do.” DuPont explained. “It was up and running so I just slid in and took over.”

DuPont was attracted to the location and the built-in customer base. He plans on expanding on that customer base by extending the hours and adding a breakfast menu. DuPont also wants to add a few signature items to the menu.

“I will be offering something I like to call Gregory’s Monte Cristo,” He explained. DuPont’s version of this rich breakfast will have ham, smoked Gouda, and cherry preserves served on French toast.

The deli will also offer muffins, biscotti, and breakfast sandwiches on its breakfast menu and will begin to carry coffee.  Although DuPont will continue to service carry out and delivery, he wants to bring a more inviting atmosphere to the eatery by adding music and even Wi-Fi for customers.

Let’s Do Lunch is on the corner at 617 Main Street in Jasper and their phone number is 634-5535.
