Lester W. Mann, 87

Lester W. Mann, age 87 of Jasper passed away at 1:25 p.m. Friday (December 23, 2011) in St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper.

He was born in Boone Township on November 21, 1924 to Edgar and Hulda (Weisman) Mann. He married Ruth Burlingame on February 14, 1947.

Lester was a WWII Army Air Corps Veteran and retried from Wood Products Company in Jasper he also worked for the Greater Jasper School System as a custodian at the Ireland School and later operated Lester’s Woodworking Company.

He is a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Boone Township and American Legion Post # 147 in Jasper.

One daughter, Mrs. Bruce (Linda) Selb, Minneapolis, MN

One sister, Mrs. George (MaeJean) Hupp, Chicago, IL

Three grandchildren and six great grandchildren

Preceding him in death are two daughters, Martha Corn and Rebecca Mann.

Funeral services for Lester Mann will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday (December 29, 2011) in St. John’s Lutheran Church with burial in St. John’s Cemetery. The Rev. Catherine Burnette will officiate.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday (December 28, 2011) at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper.
