Leona Mary (Haug) Waninger, 95

Leona Mary (Haug) Waninger, 95, of Evanston passed away Friday, November 28, at her home.
She was born December 7,1918 in Ferdinand to John & Josephine (Reuss) Haug.
She married Raymond J. Waninger on May 6,1944 in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on September 25,1993.
Leona was a homemaker, and a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Fulda. Her hobbies were quilting, sewing, cooking and gardening, especially flowers. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by two sons, Ralph F. and Louis M. Waninger, three sisters, Anna Louise Brandt , Frances Lehr, and Emma Richardt; four brothers, Albert, Martin, Leo, Edmond Haug; and a son-in-law, Joseph Otto.
Surviving are seven daughters, Carolyn Otto of Siberia, Virginia Witte of Jasper, Patty Kluemper and husband Gene of English, Betty Survance and husband, Lonnie, of Loogootee, Laura Meunier and husband, Mike, of Evanston, Mary Lou Rothgerber and husband, Dave, of Evanston and Barbara Waninger of Evanston; four sons, Jerome Waninger and his wife, Sheri, Tom Waninger, and Mike Waninger all of Evanston, and Tim Waninger of Jasper. Also surviving are 19 grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services 10:00 a.m. CST Tuesday in Saint Boniface Catholic Church, Fulda. Burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. CST Monday at Becher Funeral Home, Ferdinand and after 9:00 a.m. CST Tuesday at the church in Fulda.
