Leon Klueh, 81

Leon Klueh, 81, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.

He was born on April 16, 1944, in New Boston, Ind., to the late Paul and Anna (Mercker) Klueh.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Mary Bolin, Ester Claycomb, and Raphael Klueh.

After attending Chrisney High School, Leon joined the National Guard. He was married to Sandra Perkins on February 4, 1967. Leon dedicated over 32 years of service to Alcoa before retiring. He was an active member of the American Legion and St. Paul Catholic Church.

Leon treasured time spent with his family, especially his boys and his grandchildren, who lovingly called him “Papaw.” He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working on home improvement projects. He also thoroughly enjoyed a good shooting match and was quite skilled at them.

Leon is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Sandy Klueh; his children, Jeff Klueh of Tell City, Jeremy (Jerrilynn) Klueh of Dale, and Jonathan (Amy) Klueh of Tell City; his siblings, Charlotte Hubert, Virginia Deller, Kenneth Klueh, and Kathy Vaught; and nine grandchildren; Em, Anna, Adeline, Mariah, Isaac, Ian, Lance, Kristopher, and Porter.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 13, 2026, at St. Paul Catholic Church, with burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and again on Friday from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
