Leola “Lee” Marie Oploh, 84

Leola “Lee” Marie Oploh, 84, of Louisville, Ky., passed away at her home Thursday, May 15th.
She was born in Elmhurst, Ill., on September 11, 1929, to Harold & Marina (Weaver) Jacobs.
She married Heinz Oploh on July 27, 1957 and he preceded her in death on September 15, 1995.
She attended public and parochial schools in Chicago and graduated from DePaul University with a bachelor’s degree in music. She majored in education during graduate study at DePaul and the University Of Chicago. She worked as a copy girl for the Chicago Tribune, and as an accompanist to voice teachers at DePaul University. She taught elementary education and music in Chicago Public Schools for 38 years. Leola enjoyed nature and traveling , especially the United States and Canada.
Lee is survived by one son, William Oploh and his wife Kimberly of Makanda, Ill.; one daughter, Irene Kostiwa and husband Wade of Milwaukee, Wis.; and four grandchildren, Heidi and Elli Oploh, and Margaret and Anneliese Kostiwa.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. CST, Tuesday in St. Boniface Catholic Church in Fulda. Burial to follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. CST Monday at Becher Funeral Home, Ferdinand, and Tuesday from 9 a.m. CST till the service time at the church.
