Leola B. Krieg, 93

Leola B. Krieg, age 93, of Huntingburg, Indiana, passed away at 3:00 a.m., Sunday, December 1, 2013, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.

She was born August 31, 1920 in Perry County, Indiana to Otis and Ada May (Lawalin) Malone. She married Alvin Krieg on January 10, 1939 in Perry County, Indiana. Leola worked as a school cafeteria cook at Southridge High School, worked at Styline Goldcrest, retired from the housekeeping department of St. Joseph’s Hospital, and continued as a housekeeper cleaning offices until she was 89 years old. She was a member of the Huntingburg United Methodist Church and enjoyed quilting. Leola was preceded in death by: her husband, Alvin Krieg, who died February 26, 1963; two sons, Roger Krieg and Gary Krieg; two brothers, James Malone and Thomas Malone; and one sister, Emogene Faulkenberg.

She is survived by seven children, Elizabeth Simmers of Jasper, Norman (Mary Kaye) Krieg of Jasper, Patricia Graman of Evansville, Priscilla “Sue” (Jerry) Powell of French Lick, David (Margaret) Krieg of Huntingburg, Donna (Duane) Temple of Jasper, and Michael Krieg of Velpen; two siblings, Alvin (Gertrude) Malone of Perry County, Ind., and Virginia Evans of Tell City; by (20) grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 11 step great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Leola B. Krieg will be held at 11:00 a.m., EST, on Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Fairmount Cemetery in Huntingburg. The Rev. Paula Young Mayberry will officiate the services.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 3:00-9:00 p.m., EST, on Tuesday.
