Leo I. Roos, 68, Ferdinand, passed away Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016, at his home.

He was born in Huntingburg on Dec. 2, 1947, to Carl L. and Helen (Wanninger) Roos. He married Ruth Stenftenagel on Aug. 17, 1975, in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in St. Anthony.

Mr. Roos was a member of Divine Mercy Parish — St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. He was a retired mechanic. He enjoyed being with family, the outdoors and tinkering with machines.

Surviving are his wife, Ruth Roos; three brothers, William (Theresa) Roos and David Roos, both of Dale, and Edward Roos of Huntingburg; and four sisters, Ruth (David) Mendel and Mary Jo (Jay) Guth, both of Dale, Debra (Kevin) Roos-Meny of Santa Claus and Linda (Sylvan) Ebert of Greenwood.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Mary Alice Roos; and two sisters, Joanne (Bob) Tuggle and Judy Roos.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Divine Mercy Parish ­— St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in St. Anthony. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call after 9 a.m. Monday at the church.
