Lee Goeppner, 62, of Ireland, passed away at 9:15 p.m. on Sunday, Febuary 14, 2016, at home.
Lee was born in Ireland on July 2, 1953, to Albert and Mattieline (Huber) Goeppner. He married Marlene Woebkenberg on May 27, 1973, in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church.
Lee was a retired truck driver who had worked for Haas and Carriage Transportation Company and Werner Sawmill.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland and a former Grand Knight of the Ireland Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the Ireland Sportsman’s Club and Jasper Outdoor Recreation.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing cards.
he is survived by his wife, Marlene Goeppner of Ireland; three daughters, Jennifer Carrico and husband Rodney of Stendel, Terra Seger and husband Adamof Winslow and Mandy Roach and husband Kevin of Georgetown; four grandchildren, Michael and Gabby Seger, and Clayton and Grant Roach; five sisters, Rosie Jellison and husband Larry of Jasper, MaDonna Freyberger and husband Leroy of Jasper, Marilyn Beier and husband Bernard of Ireland, Wilma Stemle and husband Dave of Ireland and Martha Best and husband Thomas of Ireland; four brothers, Leroy Goeppner and wife Joan of Jasper, Ralph Goeppner and wife Carol of Jasper, Bernard Goeppner and wife Judy of Holland and Cletus Goeppner and wife Rita of Ireland.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Funeral services for Lee Goeppner will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 18, 2016, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 17, 2016, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper. The Ireland Knights of Columbus will perform a memorial service at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
