O’Tannenbaum Days celebrates the Christmas season in Jasper

Jasper Arts Reception for Brian Mark and Sandra Bell

Krempp Gallery, inside the Jasper Arts Center, on south Third Avenue will feature the “Sandra Bell & Brian Mark – Wood and Metal” display all weekend. An artist reception is planned for December 2 from 7-9 p.m. The Gallery hours are Friday: 10 a.m.–5 p.m. and on Sunday from noon until 3:00 p.m. The Krempp Gallery is closed on Saturday.

Christmas Craft Show at 5th Street Elementary to support the Jasper Band

The Jasper Christmas Craft Show is now a fundraiser for the Jasper High School Band. It opens at 10 a.m. and continues to 5 p.m.

Dubois Ruritans host Santa at the Dubois Library

Santa will be present from 10 to 11:30 a.m. All kids are welcome to meet with Santa.

Dubois County Museum Model Train Show

The Dubois County Museum has scheduled a model train show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Twenty vendors will be on hand to buy or sell different types and sizes of train cars, sets, toys, and accessories. Free parking. Concessions will be sold. Admission $5 for adults, $3 for high school students, and $2 for middle school and elementary students. Children 4 and under admitted free. Free admission to museum members. Memberships for 2017 will be sold at the event and can apply to the day’s admission.

Dickens at the Astra Theatre

The Jasper Public Library is hosting a free event at the Astra Theatre at 11 a.m. Children and adults will enjoy the Tribute to Charles Dickens with Don Miller. LIVE AT THE ASTRA! This one hour program will feature lots of facts, audience participation, and magic. It’s the perfect holiday program for a living glimpse of a true master of fiction, Charles Dickens. Registration is NOT required. Please come and enjoy this FREE show!

Will Read and Sing for Food show #99

Will Read and Sing For Food (WRASFF) is once again teaming up with Jasper Engines and Transmissions “Jasper Endows Today & Tomorrow (JETT)” community outreach team for a public show on Saturday, Dec. 3, 7 p.m., at Jasper Engine’s Power Drive Facility in Jasper.

The benefit show is a mix of humor essays and live music. Special musical guests include Los Guanacos (Grupo Guanaco), a Latino band from Huntingburg, and Brother, Son, a Folk/Americana band from southern Indiana. The WRASFF players for this show include Kyle Lueken, Debbie Schuetter, Prisma Lopez-Marin and Scott Saalman.

WRASFF, founded in 2011, has raised $75,900 for local causes and charities. JETT, established in 2013, has granted $60,000 to non-profit organizations.

Candlelit Christmas Parade in Downtown Huntingburg & One Night in Bethlehem performance

Santa and Mrs. Claus will lead the way on Ol’ Betsy, the city’s personable firetruck. Southridge marching band will participate along with a number of community groups and churches.

Pork Chop Fundraiser at the Astra Theatre

As an endcap to Jasper’s O’Tannenbaum Days, the Astra is hosting the fundraiser from noon to 2:30 p.m. Each to-go meal will include a 10 ounce, bacon-wrapped pork chop, a baked potato, cole slaw, and Amish bread available for pickup in the Matrix Integration parking lot at 5th and Newton streets. The meals, prepared by Ferdinand Processing, are $15 each. Advance orders can be made by calling 812 566-1935.

Dubois County Humane Society $10 microchip

The humane society is hosting a $10 microchip from 1 to 2 p.m. The 24 Pet Watch Microchip for $10 includes tag and registration. DCHS can only accept cash or check. Cats should arrive in a pet taxi and all dogs should be on a leash.
